There is nothing quite like the energy of a championship win in the mountains. For the first time in six years our Bulldogs have captured the 14th Region title and earned their spot at Rupp Arena. The preschool class showed their school spirit today with a pep rally for Seth and the basketball team. We invite the community to join us tonight at Memorial Gym at 7:00 PM to support our student-athletes.

While the 54th District Championship win was a total team effort, a special moment during the celebration stood out to everyone in attendance. Senior Carlee Davidson was chosen to place the final winning tag on the championship bracket.

Though a mid-season injury sidelined Carlee physically, it never dampened her spirit or her influence on the court. Before her injury, she played a vital role in the team's early success, setting the tone for what has become an incredible season. Since then, she has transitioned into a crucial leadership role, cheering from the sidelines and mentoring her teammates through every high and low.

Having Carlee place the bracket was a tribute to her resilience and the undeniable part she played in bringing this trophy home to Hazard Independent Schools. She remains a true champion, both in stats and in spirit.
