Third and fourth grade students from Roy G. Eversole Elementary recently took part in exciting hands-on learning experiences at the Challenger Learning Center of Kentucky in Hazard.
Third graders became “Robo-Nauts,” designing and launching rockets, building electrical circuits, and programming DASH robots through interactive coding challenges. The program encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation while sparking students’ interest in engineering and robotics.
Meanwhile, fourth graders explored Moon, Mars, and Beyond, a program that introduced them to NASA’s current Artemis mission. Students engaged with more than 20 interactive exhibits, explored critical STEAM concepts, and recorded data logs of their discoveries.
Both programs gave students a unique opportunity to apply classroom learning in real-world scenarios, building curiosity and confidence in science, technology, engineering, and math.
Special thanks to Partners for Rural Impact (PRI) Full-Service Community Schools and PRI School Coordinator Christine Cornwell for helping provide this amazing opportunity for our students.
